Welcome Child in the sewer by Reverend Petru Dugulescu
The child in the sewer is an intruder Who was born without asking for his rights. A soulless mother brought him, But didn’t gave him a heart or chest.
Then she left him in a hospital Only one day after he was broken from her And she got carried away by the wave While he grew older, thrown away from place to place.
We fed him with the bread of sorrow In houses of sad residence They washed him with the hose And disciplined him without clemency.
Attracted by the freedom's longing since a boy When he drew ships on paper He started to build a future: An old child without a childhood!
I see him through night like a bird Always with its killing bag, Satiated with hunger, trembling of cold, Carrying his poverty in a bag.
